I recently spoke with a law firm about a website redesign. They had last redesigned their website in 2013 so it was time for a refresh. They focused a lot of their energy on creating content with newsletters and then posting them on the website.
Interestingly enough when I took a closer look at the website there was not one title tag optimized on the site. For example their homepage had the name of their firm and then each individual page had the name of the page. No additional keywords for tags that were relevant to each practice area, no layer of regional or attorney terms tube to sit a top their site.
They were business litigation firm and they did do a lot of content. Each week they would take recent developments in the law and recent business litigation decisions and publish it all in their newsletter and then publish on the website as well. I explained that all that content could be referenced in cross-referenced as a resource for business litigation attorneys and they were missing a large SEO opportunity to have potential targeted clients find them on the web.
